The easiest way home

Congratulations on your new Summit Tractor. The easiest and most affordable way to get your tractor from the store to your property is a local rollback (tilt-deck) tow truck — the same type of truck used to haul cars. The bed tilts to ground level so your tractor simply drives on and drives off. No ramps, forklifts, or special equipment needed at your home.

Most Economical Approach

Have the tractor transported via rollback, and pick up your attachments yourself. The store can load palletized attachments (200–650 lbs) into your pickup truck or trailer with their forklift. This eliminates any additional delivery cost for attachments. If you have attachments that won’t fit in your vehicle, 1–2 pallets can ride on the rollback with the tractor at little or no extra cost.

Two common scenarios

Scenario A — Tractor Only

The simplest option: have the rollback deliver the tractor to your property, and you handle the attachments yourself or skip the attachments entirely.

  1. Search for “rollback tow truck” or “flatbed tow truck” near the store.
  2. Provide your tractor’s weight and dimensions (see specs above).
  3. Schedule pickup at the retail store.
  4. Driver loads your tractor at the store, delivers and unloads at your property.

Typical cost: $100 – $215 for a 5–15 mile delivery.

Scenario B — Tractor + Attachments

Most economical approach: rollback for the tractor + self-pickup for attachments.

If you can’t pick up attachments:

Typical cost: $100 – $450 for tractor transport only if you self-pickup attachments.

How rollback delivery works

1
Call a local rollback tow company and schedule pickup at the store.
2
Driver tilts the bed to ground level at the store.
3
Your tractor drives onto the bed and is secured.
4
At your property, the bed tilts and your tractor drives off.

What to say when you call the tow company

Keep this script handy. It tells the dispatcher exactly what they need to give you an accurate quote:

“I need a rollback or flatbed tow truck to transport a new compact tractor from [store name] to my property, about [X] miles away. The tractor weighs [3,600 / 4,200] pounds and is [12.7 / 14.8] feet long. It’s fully operational and will drive on and off the bed. Can you give me a quote?”

Have your own trailer? Self-transport requirements

If you own a properly rated utility trailer, you can haul your tractor yourself. Both trailer sizes require dual axle with brakes on both axles and ramps for drive-on / drive-off.

Tractor Only
7 × 16 ft
  • GVWR: 7,000 lbs
  • Mfr. Rated Payload: ~5,000 lbs
  • Tow Vehicle: ¾-ton pickup truck
Tractor + Attachments
7 × 20 ft
  • GVWR: 9,990 lbs
  • Mfr. Rated Payload: ~7,000 lbs
  • Tow Vehicle: ¾-ton or 1-ton pickup truck

Important — Do Not Use Light-Duty Rental Trailers

Store rental trailers (2,250 lb capacity) are NOT suitable for Summit Tractors. Your tractor exceeds their weight rating.

Smart tips to save time & money

Pick up attachments yourself The store loads them with their forklift. This is the #1 way to save on total delivery cost.
Schedule weekday daytime service Evenings and weekends typically cost 25–45% more.
Confirm driver experience Most experienced tow operators can operate a compact tractor — but ask first.
Call the store ahead Have your tractor and pallets staged and ready to load when the truck arrives.
Prepare your unloading area A flat, firm surface — paved or packed gravel — is ideal.
Ask for total price upfront Base fee + per-mile charge. Get everything in writing, no surprises.
Use your loader for pallets If your tractor has a loader bucket, you can move pallets off the truck at your property yourself.
Be flexible on timing Giving the tow company a window instead of a fixed time can reduce the price.
